Interests & Specialties With the philosophy that one should travel, not to "see" the world, but to "experience" the world - Heather's interests lie in any type of active, adventure, or eco-travel.
Expert Bio Having spent three years "post-college" working various jobs in order to support her habit of traveling the world, Heather found herself at the office of Robertson International Travel Consultants. Three years later, it seems she has found a way to combine one of life's necessities (work) with one of life's passions (travel). Heather is continuously learning, not only of new and exciting destinations, but of new and exciting ways to experience the "tried and true" destinations.
My Recent Trips After a wonderful year of travel in 2005 - biking through New Zealand with Butterfield & Robinson, heli-hiking in the Canadian rockies with Canadian Mountain Holidays, and cruising the fall foliage of New England sith Silversea aboard the Silver Whisper- 2006 had a lot to live up to. Lucky for me, it did not disappoint.
September offered me a quick trip north to Seattle where I boarded the ms Westerdam for an overnight sail to Vancouver and a taste of life with Holland America Line. Two days in the wonderful "green" city of Vancouver, BC followed, with a chance to experience some of the city highlights.
In early December I was off to the tropics for two weeks of exploring Costa Rica by land and by sea. First was an amazing week on land, arranged by our wonderful on-sites Costa Rica Expeditions, with visits to Tortuguero (on the caribbean coast) and a chance to see hatching sea turtles; the Monte Verde Cloud Forest - a wonder unto itself; and the volcano region of Arenal with a chance to soak in the geo-thermal hot springs. It was then time to take to the sea with Lindblad Expeditions and a week sailing south to Panama on the Sea Voyager. This wonderful journey highlighted all the flora and fauna that Costa Rica has to offer, as well as a crossing of the Panama Canal. I absolutely fell in love with this region of the world and cannot wait to return.
2007 kicked off to a wonderful start with another chance of life at sea - this time in Crystal fashion. I boarded the Crystal Serenity in Miami fora luxurious week in the caribbean. With three full days at sea, I had plenty of time to soak in the "Crystal Experience" - and what an experience it was!
