Brian T. Robertson, CTC started his travel career in 1961 as a ticket agent for Boulder Travel Agency, while attending the University of Colorado in Boulder. In 1962 he set his course for Santa Barbara, managed the American Express Division for the leading travel agency Booher Travel, and purchased the travel agency in 1970 with 8 staff members.
In 1971, Brian was elected to the position of Vice President of Southern California ASTA (American Society of Travel Agents) and was also elected to the Board of Trustees of Allied Travel, Inc. In 1987, Allied Travel, Inc. merged with Percival Tours, to become today the largest and leading luxury travel marketing company in the world, VIRTUOSO.
In 1973, Brian received his Certification (Certified Travel Consultant – CTC) from the Institute of Certified Travel Agents. By 1976, Brian had the largest travel agency in the Tri-Counties with over 25 travel advisors on his staff. Following deregulation of the airlines in 1978, Brian changed his business model and gradually downsized into the luxury travel market specializing in luxury cruise lines, luxury tour operators, private jets and yachts and customized travel traveling.
In 1987, he moved his office to Montecito, California and together with his new bride, Judy (married in September 1987), escorted trips for hundreds of people all over the world including hosting 4 world cruises between 2007 and 2010 for the VIRTUOSO Voyager Club.
In 2006, together with their manager Heather Schuyler, Brian and Judy moved their office back to Santa Barbara where it is currently located. Brian has received many awards throughout his travel career including being a Conde Nast Specialist in Private Jet Vacations.
In addition to his travel career, which has given him a strong interest for international relations. Brian is currently the Chairman of the Santa Barbara Committee on Foreign Relations and also a Vice President on the Board of the Channel City Club. He is also on the Santa Barbara Zoo Board of Directors.
In 2014, Brian T. Robertson, CTC will have visited over 100 countries and served his clients in Santa Barbara and around the world for 53 years. Brian lives with his wife, Judy, on Faria Beach in Ventura, 15 miles south of Santa Barbara.
